Historical Note: Kiva Jars were use for storage bowls for seeds, pollen and ceremonial items. A lid is incorporated in the bowl to keep rodents out of the bowl and preserve the sacredness of ceremonial items used in Kiva ceremonies.

The Kiva Jar displayed here is the first Dog Kiva Jar produced in the "Legends in Clay Classic Series," this series features bowls replicated as they looked when first unearthed. This new "Classic Series" is the finest replicated pottery found today in galleries in the southwest.
